Patient and History:
Patient was a 3 year old castrated male dog. Presented in shock and pain after being bitten by another dog. The patient sustained severe bruising on the caudal ventral abdomen as well as on the right hind limb.
Light therapy was done for 8 minutes, once a day, for a week. The patient was kept on concurrent antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
The bruising improved dramatically over the first few days. No tissue was lost due to necrosis and the patient was able to walk on the leg without limping, much sooner than initial evaluations had predicted.
