Many of you will have heard of the amazing story of the heroic German Shepherd Police Dog, Finn. After Finn’s recovery from the almost fatal stabbing, to protect his handler PC Dave Wardell, Dave has relentlessly campaigned for #FinnsLaw.
Finn suffers with a extremely sore neck and arthritic legs which has been helped tremendously by Photizo Light Therapy alongside regular physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
After being kindly introduced to the light therapy by Photizo Ambassador, Kratu and owner, Tess, the Photizo UK Team are honoured and privileged to have Finn join the Photizo Brand Ambassador Team. Finn’s family are helping to share his experience and pain relief results using Photizo with followers and all funds raised will be donated to German Shepherd Rescue Elite. For more information on how to help, please contact @FabulousFinn via his social media platforms.
Dave grew up on a council estate in South London and found his love for Dogs through his beloved German Shepherd, Jess.
Dave went on to join the police and spent 5 years trying to join the dog section which was his passion. In 2009 Dave finally got onto the team and was given his partner, Finn.
A highly-trained police dog, during his career Finn has found missing children, tackled armed offenders, saved lives. But he’s not just a police dog, he’s a cherished family pet.
On the 5th October 2016, around 2 am, Dave and Finn, were trying to apprehend a robbery suspect when he turned and attacked them. Finn was stabbed with a 10-inch bladed knife, through his chest, via his armpit and then – the knife bound for Dave – through the top of his head. Finn no doubt saved Dave’s life by getting in the way of the knife.
But Finn came bouncing back and just 11 weeks after his surgery returned to work with Dave by his side again catching criminals.
Dave and Finn’s loyalty, passion and determination has brought about change (‘Finn’s Law’) and shines a light on the outstanding work of Service animals.
The duo are continuing their work with asking the government to increase the sentences in the Animal Welfare Act, #FinnsLawPart2.
