Hello my name is Dee Ellingham, I have had a passion for horses and how they move from a very young age, be it large or small. Over the years I have been keen to develop this passion into my profession. Having studied Equine Management at Shuttleworth College, I used this as a platform towards becoming an Equine Sports Massage Therapist within the professional equine industry. During my time at Shuttleworth, I completed various BHS stages, riding, care and also completed an extensive work placement of my choice at Rossdales Equine Hospital in Newmarket. During my time at Rossdales I was based with the head diagnostics vet, assisting with examinations and imaging, I also spent an extensive amount of hours in the operating theatre and intensive care unit. From here I knew that a career in diagnosing and rehabilitation was what I wanted to pursue. This is when I found Equine Sports Massage. Training at The College of Animal Physiotherapy, under the watchful eye of Andrea Pole who herself trained with one of the original founders of Equine sports massage Mary Bromiley. Equine sports massage is a gentle hands on approach to rebalancing the body by improving range of movement and improving lymphatic flow throughout the body. Sports massage can be used in many different scenarios from stimulating a horse’s muscles that is just about to run cross country, to deep relaxation for healing.
