Having always had at least one dog in my life whilst growing up, they were then and as today, part of the family. With this my passion for working with animals was initially reinforced by experience as a dog groomer running my own business. Whilst living in the South of England, I was given the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and passion in grooming to students at a large agricultural college, where I taught intermediate and advanced dog grooming. In my spare time I worked as a micro chipping relief officer for the National Canine Defence League, now known as the Dogs Trust. In 2001 I trained and qualified as a hydrotherapist and then worked for a large veterinary group. Our move to America in 2010 gave me the opportunity to study for the Certificate of Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner run by the University of Tennessee, and on my return to the UK I managed to get an externship for this at Fitzpatrick Referrals. Whilst working there with the physiotherapy team, I decided to apply for and study to obtain my Level 7 Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Physiotherapy qualification with Canine and Equine Physiotherapy Training. Once qualified I launched Fusion Veterinary Physiotherapy or Fusion Vet Physio where I worked successfully with local veterinary practices offering physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Moving to Aberdeenshire my dream of having my own centre where clients and their pets can access the best in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and now hydrotherapy has become a reality as we now have a purpose built centre. I love my work, aiming to make a difference for much loved pets with complimentary therapy, is my life, so with this I am constantly studying to update my skills and keep up to date with the latest techniques in rehabilitation….so although now happily settled in Aberdeenshire…. my journey of study continues!
