Condition: The patient was presented with a case of chronic, painful tail necrosis and abscessation.
Treatment: Phototherapy was done once a day, for 3 minutes for the first 5 days and thereafter every second or third day.
Outcome: The tail healed within 4 weeks with tissue filling in the defect. After 8 weeks the tail was fully recovered with minimal scar tissue present.
